The city witnessed a heart enthralling event this Sunday at Shringar theatre, Pragati Maidan. Young hearts went encore and mesmerized, eyes were rolling, feet were tapping, hands raised ; and the hearts of GEN could feel the beans of transformation spilled within themselves. Self Assessment and Management or better known as SAM is a series of monthly workshops organized by YPSS-Yuva Pariwar Sewa Samiti, an organization formed by the dedicated youth of our nation who have come together to see the world change. Their longing for transformation can be witnessed in SAM workshops. These youngsters believe in transformation from within. The modern scenario is not hidden from anyone. The youth, as we see today is engrossed in drugs, crime and all sorts of social maladies. This negative work spirit seen amongst youth, can very well portray our nation’s future. Youth is supposed to be the backbone of our nation and today this backbone appears to be bent! But don’t worry readers; the YPSS team is all set to inspire the GEN by being role models of this change which was possible only after attaining Divine Knowledge. They selflessly serve the people who are in need which is indeed a commendable work being done by YPSS. YPSS has already transformed thousands of youngsters into mature, aware and sensible intellectuals.
This event, organized on Sunday was honored by Swami Hari Chaitanya from Washington D.C. who shared his soul stirring, life-changing experience from abjection to nobleness, a directcup on perception- ‘Not to feel the change but to be the change’. We want people around the globe to realize that we care for them; says anchor Raja. ;The job satisfaction which we derive here is divine says Mr. Harvinder Kohli, active member, YPSS.
The YPSS team was beaming with a boom of enthusiasm and an eagerness to work for humanity. Last but not the least, the mesmerizing performances of the Rock Band; ETERNAL BLISS created an environment of positivity and optimism. SAM this February was truly a package of transformation; all packed and presented in a top notch wrap.
If you missed SAM this month, make sure to attend the next SAM on March 18, 2010 at Shringar theatre. Gate no 5, Pragati maidan, New Delhi, 5:00 pm onwards. Get yourselves registered online at www.ypss.org

H.H Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
Examine your friendships, they are often for a cause. There are several reasons for your friendships:
You make friendships because you have common enemies. Fear and threat to survival can bring people together. You make friendships because you have a common problem. You talk about your problems and become friends. For example, sickness, job dissatisfaction, etc… People get together because they have common interests. For example, through business or a profession (doctors, architects, social workers, etc…) You make friends because you have common tastes. You have similar tastes in sports, movies, entertainment, music, hobbies, etc… People become friends because of compassion and service. Out of compassion and pity for someone, you become friends with them. People become friends merely because of long-term acquaintance. Brave are those who nurture friendships for only friendship’s sake. Such friendships will never die nor become soured for it is born out of one’s friendly nature. Only through wisdom can one become friendly by nature. Comment on this article | Read more... |

COMMITMENT AND CONVENIENCE |
|
H. H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar A commitment can only be felt when it oversteps convenience. That which is convenient, you do not call commitment. If you just go on your convenience, your commitment falls apart causing more inconvenience! If you keep dropping your commitment because it is inconvenient, can you be comfortable? Often, what is convenient does not bring comfort, but gives an illusion of comfort. Also if you are too stuck in commitment, and it is too inconvenient too often, you will be unable to fulfill your commitment and it will only generate frustration. Wisdom is to strike a balance between convenience and commitment because both bring comfort to the body, mind and spirit.
A seeker of knowledge should forget about convenience, so should soldiers, rulers, students, seekers of wealth and all essential service providers. Those who want to be creative and adventurous transcend convenience. Those who are ambitious and have a passion for a goal do not care for convenience. To the wise their commitment is their comfort. Whenever their commitment is shaken, their comfort is also shaken. To the lazy, commitment is torture though it is the best remedy.
Commitment will always bring comfort in the long run.
Question: Are there any commitments that can be given up?
Answer: Yes.
#Sometimes when you are committed without a vision, you feel stifled when your vision expands. Such commitments made with shortsightedness can be given up. #A smaller less important commitment can be given up for a greater commitment. #Commitment to the means can be given up for the sake of the commitment to the goals. #When your commitment brings misery to many in the long run it can be given up. How to deal with rude behaviour? |
|
H.H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
What do you do when someone behaves very rudely towards you? Get upset React rudely back Get frustrated Run away and avoid the person or situation Blame the person Preach to the person None of these will in any way strengthen you.
Then what are the options? See rude behaviour in this light:
It indicates the intensity of their commitment It indicates their stress and insensitivity It projects the upbringing of the person It shows a behavioural pattern It shows lack of knowledge It shows lack of observation of the mind and its sensations It shows you behaviour to avoid It is an opportunity for you to welcome and absorb the rudeness It strengthens your mind It reveals the love that you are as unconditional
The next time when someone is rude to you, just give back a broad smile. If you can digest their rudeness, nothing whatsoever can shake you.

Freedom and discipline are opposites and complementary. The purpose of defense is to protect freedom. But is there freedom in defense? Do soldiers have freedom? No, they are totally bound, not even allowed to put the right foot down when told the left foot. Their steps are measured and they are unable even to walk with a natural rhythm. There is total lack of freedom in defense. That which has absolutely no freedom is protecting the freedom of the country! So it is with the police; they protect the freedom of the individual. But are they free? Discipline protects freedom. Click on read more below to continue... Comment on this article | Read more... |
