Considered  by  many  to be  the  best-written  plays of  Rabindranath Tagore, Raktakarabi  revolves around a site where the King  of  Yakshapuri  is  engaged  in  extracting  gold  from  underground caves. It looks at how a young girl, Nandini, arrives on the scene; how she motivates the King; and how she finally persuades him to lead the fight against the uprising of the sardars.
