Mr. & Ms. Zest, an annual pageant organized to find the smartest and the most glamorous representative of an institute, was organized at Lingaya’s Zest-2009.
The show was judged by a distinguished panel which included the likes of Ms. Sana Oberoi, an internationally acclaimed model. The anchors of the lively show were Akhil Mehendiratta and the winner of Mr. Zest 2007- Rishi Iqbal.
The glamour quotient was at its peak courtesy the make up by Profile Unisex Salon, who were also the main sponsors of the event.
The contest comprised of three rounds- the Guns& Roses round, the Talent Hunt round and the Questionnaire round.
The main aim of the Guns & Roses round was to let the twenty contestants (ten boys and ten girls) to introduce themselves to the judges and the audience apart from removing their nervousness and stage fear. Only eight contestants (four boys and four girls) could successfully prove their mettle in this stage.
The talent hunt round was organized to unleash the hidden artist of the contestants. The round comprised of poetry on Indian Railways, mimicry, dance performances etc. Only five contestants could successfully impress the judges in this round and reach the final round.
The third round was a questionnaire round wherein the four judges asked for the opinions of the contestants on a wide range of subjects. The subjects ranged from live-in relationships to importance of physical beauty.
Pulkit Nagpal and Niharika of Lingaya’s University were respectively crowned as Mr. and Ms. Zest 2009. Akshit of Sat Priya Institute of Engineering & Technology and Surbhi bagged the 1st Runner up titles for their colleges.
