Not Justified
by Anurup Arora

I as any other service class delhite, every morning jostle up daily traffic to reach my office. On every red light stoppage, we encounter hoards of destitute children and adults either amputated or dressed in various attire & cosmetic set up asking for alms.  Is this celebration of God or just another means of commercializing God? Poverty in India .....

...or for that matter elsewhere has not only affected people themselves or mere economy but also managed to cause lot of damage  to other things as well. And one of them is God. Be it time of recession or boom, this industry (we can term it as God or Religion exploitation) has always seen sky rocketing growth.  We may not see as many buildings coming up, as we can notice temples mushrooming from every nook and corner of the city. It’s not because suddenly people of the city have become too  pious and religious.  It’s because our society is becoming weaker and shallower day by day. We have lost trust in our innate abilities and have started walking on path which is taking us into abysmal darkness.

Youth today have started forming very upsetting & atheistic perspectives of religion. But it’s not youth who needs moral lessons but it us who needs one. Everyone today is fighting for the cause of protecting the environment, but who among us is fighting to protect piety of the God. Just because few things don’t affect us directly, it doesn’t mean we can weed them off from our roots.

We spend and waste so many resources showing off that we love God by blindly following so many superstitions and throwing million of currencies as grants and charities which ultimately lands into the hands of sinful. No surprise it would be, if the same money is being utilized to sponsor militants because it is the best, safest, tax free and unquestionable means of earning money.

Follower of any religion should be at least responsible towards protecting its purity. I believe no God requires monetary donation or lobbying to get pleased. He will be more pleased if we serve the needy. Serving is the biggest religion.
Religion and personal motives, no matter how critical they are for one self should not be linked. No matter how destitute one is, God has gifted each of us with ample capabilities to contend ourselves without cashing on his name. We just need to discover our selves than to take an abysmal path.
